Three south London primary schools are locked down as police respond to reports of gun

Teachers placed a south London primary school on lock-down this afternoon as police investigated reports of a man carrying a gun.  

Officers raced to Bromley this afternoon, telling pupils and teachers to remain indoors.

Castlecombe Primary School was shut while police attended the scene today.

After attending, the Met Police said that there was no gunman or firearm found in the area.  

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: Police were called at 15:08hrs on Tuesday, 11 February to a report of a male seen carrying a firearm at Dunkery Road, Bromley. 

‘Children were kept inside a local school as a precaution while officers and NPAS made a search of the immediate and surrounding areas. No trace of the suspect or a firearm was found. No arrests.’
