Asante Kotoko’s Asante regional Circles Council chairman Benjamin Obeng Sekyere has insisted the best way to select the ideal Chief Executive Officer of the club is by making competence the topmost criteria.
The soft-spoken Obeng Sekyere believes Kotoko should adopt a business approach in a new direction to improve the fortunes of the club.
“We are now in a business era and football is treated as such in the modern era. I expect the board to rather focus on competence in appointing the next Chief Executive Officer for the club,” he told Sunyani-based Nimdee FM.
The Porcupine Warriors could name a CEO in the coming days to replace George Amoako who would be reportedly named as the new Accra representative of the club.
Amoako, a Ghana FA Executive Council member, has been occupying the position for some time and even contested and won an ExCo seat on the ticket of the club but he has fallen out of favour with the new board.
Amoako was appointed CEO of the Porcupine Warriors in August 2018 but the new Board of Directors outdoored last week are convinced the time is ripe for the Ghana FA Executive Council member to be shown the exit door.
