Make like mum-to-be Meghan in a maxi dress by Carolina Herrera

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated Valentine’s Day by announcing the happy news that they will be welcoming a new addition to their family!

How sweet that it’s the 37th anniversary of Princess Diana announcing that she was pregnant with Harry in 1984 too.

The couple gave us Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts in the closing scene of Notting Hill vibes in this photo. Meghan is wearing a dress that was made for her by Carolina Herrera when she was expecting big brother-to-be Archie, making it even more meaningful.

It’s a simple yet chic maxi dress with a round neckline in what looks like a linen fabric. It’s perfect maternity wear, and although the exact dress isn’t available to buy, we’ve tracked down four similar options to help you get the look.

Great Plains and Asos have got our favourites, or Meghan has got this Magic Linen dress in her wardrobe so that’s a pretty good place to start!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined a digital event organized by poetry group Get Lit in honor of Black History Month, but only their head and shoulders were visible on the call, keeping any hint of their exciting news under wraps.

The last time Meghan was seen prior to the call was on 13 December, when she shared a pre-recorded message on CNN Heroes series, which praises those making a difference in communities.

The Duchess was filmed from the waist up and her midriff was in full view of the camera.

The news of her pregnancy comes just months after Meghan, 39, revealed that she lost her second child to a miscarriage in an article for the New York Times.

It also comes on the 37th anniversary of when Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, announced that she was pregnant with him on Valentine’s Day in 1984.

A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry said: ‘We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.’

The couple shared their announcement – aptly on Valentine’s Day – by posting a black and white image of Harry resting his hand on Meghan’s head as she lay in his lap underneath a tree.

‘The photograph of the Duke and Duchess was was taken by the couple’s longtime friend Misan Harriman. What wonderful news for the Sussexes!!’ their spokesperson added.

If born in the U.S., the baby will be entitled to U.S. citizenship as an automatic right.

Harry and Meghan shocked the world last year when they stepped down as senior royals and announced they were moving to North America with baby Archie, who will turn two in May.

The couple have been hunkering down at a sprawling nine-bedroom mansion in Montecito that they purchased for $14.65 million last June.

Their baby announcement came just days after Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie welcomed a baby boy on February 9.

Meghan and Harry were said to have sent their congratulations to Eugenie privately, while keeping their own growing family under wraps.
