EGG HARBOR CITY, New Jersey (WPVI) — Emergency crews responded after a dump truck crashed into a home in Atlantic County, New Jersey.

It happened shortly after 9 a.m. Monday on Route 30 (White Horse Pike) and Antwerp Avenue in Egg Harbor City.

According to police, a dump truck and another vehicle collided.

The dump truck driver lost control and continued traveling westbound. The truck went off the road and crashed into a house.

Action News obtained surveillance video that shows the moment the truck plowed into the home.

Chopper 6 and the Action Cam on the scene showed the home suffered extensive damage and partially collapsed from the impact.

A crushed car was being towed away.

The truck also suffered front-end damage.

Action News spoke with neighbor Anita Wagner who was stopped at a stop sign nearby when the crash occurred.

She said she saw a transformer explode and the aftermath of the truck smashing into the home.

“I honestly can’t believe what I still saw,” Wagner said.

According to witnesses at the scene, there were people in the home at the time of the crash who came outside after the impact.

Wagner said good Samaritans who were driving by stopped to help.

“A great community of people came together to make sure everybody was safe,” Wagner said.

Witnesses said the dump truck driver was walking and alert after the crash. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

There is no official word on injuries or conditions at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
