The Central Regional Command has announced a GHS10,000 bounty for information that will help it arrest some murder suspects who killed a 26-year-old man at Assin Praso during a clash between youth factions in the area.

The police in a statement indicated that some irate youth from Assin Praso and Adansi Praso attacked themselves with cutlasses and other offensive weapons at the Assin Praso lorry station on Friday, April 9, 2021.

“According to the report, two victims namely Prince Oduro aged 26, now deceased and Ishmael Dzogbenu sustained severe injuries, and they were rushed to St. Francis Xavier hospital for treatment where Prince Oduro died shortly on arrival,” the Police said in a statement.

“The Command has placed a reward of GH¢10,000 for any person who can provide credible information to police that will lead to the arrest of suspect(s) who are involved.”

The Command in the statement further assured persons around Assin Praso and its environs that the security situation is under control, and that measures have been put in place to maintain law and order.

It is currently unclear what triggered the confrontation between the youth.

Police say no arrest has been made yet.

POLICE PLACE GH 10, 000 REWARD FOR INFORMATION ON ASSIN PRASO MURDER SUSPECT (S) ARREST

The Central Regional Police Command is investigating a case of murder and causing harm which occurred on 9th April, 2021, at Assin Praso when some irate youth from Assin Praso and Adansi Praso attacked themselves with cutlasses and other offensive weapons at Assin Praso lorry station.

According to the report, two victims namely Prince Oduro aged 26, now deceased and Ishmael Dzogbenu sustained severe injuries and they were rushed to St. Francis Xavier hospital for treatment where Prince Oduro died shortly on arrival. The body of the deceased kept at the same hospital morgue for preservation. No arrests have been made yet.

The Command has placed a reward of Gh¢ 10,000 for any person who can provide credible information to police that will lead to the arrest of suspect (s) who are involved.

The Command is assuring persons around Assin Praso and its environs that the security situation is under control, that measures have been put in place to maintain law and order.
