Three Norwalk Middle School staff members are being honored for saving a student’s life last month.C.J. Degen, Beth Ward and Lauren Johnson were honored by Norwalk Mayor Tom Phillips for their quick and life-saving actions. The trio worked together after a student went into cardiac arrest in early September. KCCI told you the story of 8th grader Kamryn Soroka. Her mother told us Kamryn suffers from a condition that stiffens her heart chambers over time. She was resuscitated using electric shock to her heart and CPR. Norwalk paramedics were at the school less than four minutes after being called, but staff had Kamryn awake and alert by that time.
