Tilly Ramsay has become the ninth celebrity eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday – leaving her famous father welling up in the studio.

Chef Gordon, 55, couldn’t hold back the tears as his 20-year-old daughter waved goodbye to the competition alongside pro partner Nikita Kuzmin, after they scored 30 for their Samba to Levitating by Dua Lipa and placed bottom of the leaderboard.

YouTuber Tilly landed in the dreaded dance off with presenter Rhys Stephenson, 28, who scored 35 for his Waltz with partner Nancy Xu to You Light Up My Life by Whitney Houston.

Both couples performed their routines again in a bid to impress the judges and secure their place in the quarter finals – with Nikita even ripping off his brightly-hued shirt during the proceedings.

Last month, Gordon took a jibe at Nikita for having his shirt undone during another routine, quipping: ‘One little issue, Nikita, you and I have been talking for many months now but, you know Frankenstein always has his top button done up! Come on man, get rid of the six pack! It’s a family show!’

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts:

Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Rhys and Nancy. Craig said: ‘Well on Saturday night, I gave both couples seven, so in my head they are equal.

‘The dance off proved that they both improved enormously, although one was quite flashy and semi naked. But, I’d like to save Rhys and Nancy.’

With three votes to Rhys and Nancy, it meant they had won the majority vote, and Tilly and Nikita would be leaving the competition regardless, however Head Judge Shirley Ballas said she would also have decided to save Rhys and Nancy.
