A Massachusetts teenager is getting the chance to live his dream thanks to a huge surprise from Disney World.Luke Barry, of Mansfield, leads his family, friends and neighbors in an annual Christmas-themed parade because of his love of marching bands. This year’s Walnut Street Unicorn Marching Band parade was held on Wednesday.Jill Barry said her son, who has autism, loves marching bands and that he has asked for an instrument for his birthday and Christmas every year since he was 2. Luke will turn 17 years old this month.”We actually built a shed out back to keep them all in because they do not fit in the house anymore,” Jill Barry said.”My favorite instrument over there is the trombone, I mean the snare drum,” Luke Barry said during the parade.This year’s neighborhood parade was extra special for Luke, as he received a surprise invitation from the Main Street Philharmonic, Disney’s marching band at Magic Kingdom. Jilly Barry said it has been her son’s dream to march with the Main Street Philharmonic.”Since you love music as much as we do, we’d be honored if you would join us and march with us through the Magic Kingdom. See you real soon!” the band said in a video message for Luke.Luke’s family, friends and neighbors couldn’t help but shout for joy when seeing the big smile on his face after learning the news.”Luke just brings that out in everybody. Like, he is a parade. He, himself, is a parade,” Jill Barry said.”I’m going to Disney World!” Luke shouted.Luke will leave for Walt Disney World on Saturday, and you can watch him march with the Main Street Philharmonic on WCVB Channel 5. The “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” will air on Christmas morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
