Unhappy Chelsea fans descend on Club for selling Ghanaian-born Tariq Lamptey

Chelsea fans are already calling for the return of former player Tariq Lamptey.

Frank Lampard sold the 19-year-old to Brighton for £4million in January after the player had spent time on loan at the latter.

Brighton expressed interest in signing the right-back on permanent basis and Chelsea did not hesitate by accepting a bid for him knowing he was not going to get enough first team opportunities.

Since joining Brighton, the defender has grown to become a big player and showed it in Monday’s clash at the American Express Community Stadium.

Lamptey tormented Chelsea’s left side throughout the game and got himself a deserved assist for Brighton’s only goal of the game from the foot of Leandro Tossand.

Fans of the blues are now craving to see the player at the Club after overly impressing since moving from Stamford Bridge.

One said: “Are we going to buy Lamptey back in the future for a fortune after letting him go?”

Another said: “How long until Chelsea try to buy Tariq Lamptey back?”

A third added: “Lamptey was amazing tonight. Sadly for him Chelsea have Reece James but no doubt in my mind Lamptey will do great things.”

Unfortunately for Chelsea, they do not have a buy-back clause in the player’s move to Brighton.
